EcoCert Fair Trade

Ecocert has developed standards defining a Fair Trade guarantee system, based on the principles of solidarity and responsibility. Ecocert Fair Trade (EFT) Standards have been designed to foster new initiatives, add value to operators' commitment to fair trade practices, and boost consumer confidence. EFT Standards provide comprehensive documentation, field inspection tools and details on certification procedures. They emphasize social and environmental issues, and give consideration to the entire commodity chain.

The standards are a result of collaboration with professionals in diverse sectors: producers, processors, importers, retailers and consumer associations. EFT Standards are suited to both food and non food commodities (such as cosmetics, textiles and handicraft).
